ARTEMIS AND HER HEROES
Whom did Artemis choose to hunt with her in Mortal Arena?
Artemis is the Olympian goddess of the hunt, moon and chastity. Over time, she has been associated with childbirth and nature. She has immortal lineage from her parents Zeus and Leto, and she is sister to the sun god, Apollo.
Still a little girl, she asked her father Zeus to keep her maidenhood forever. Thus she remained chaste for eternity. Artemis not only took care of her purity but also defended the innocence of her worshippers.
So be promiscuous and invite the wrath of Artemis. She has chosen 4 daredevils to fight for her in Mortal Arena. They are: Aethra, Peleus, Pollux and Penthesilea.
Penthesilea (Legendary Hero)
Penthesilea is the legendary queen and warrior of the Amazons. During the Trojan War, she fought alongside the forces of King Priam against the Achaeans. It wasn’t common for the queen to participate in the wars during her times, but she was known for defying rules. By fighting for Artemis in Mortal Arena, she will continue to break the conventions.
Peleus (Epic Hero)
Peleus was the son of Aeacus, king of the island of Aegina. He fell in love with many women in his life but true love took time in finding him. Finally, he met Thetis, a sea nymph and married her in a grand event. Their son Achilles is the famous and brave soldier of the Trojan War.
Pollux (Common Hero)
Pollux was one of the twin Dioscuri brothers- born to Leda and Zeus. It made him a demigod and an immortal. He participated in several expeditions along with his brother. He helped Jason in retrieving the Golden Fleece. The two brothers also took part in the hunt of the Calydonian Boar. Later, when their sister Helen was abducted by Theseus, they attacked and saved her.
Aethra (Common Hero)
Aethra was the daughter of King Pitteus of Troezen. She gave birth to the famous hero Theseus, after lying with Aegeus and Poseidon. The grown-up Theseus kidnapped Helen. However, Helen’s brother took her back and in retaliation abducted Aethra. She lived in Troy until her grandson freed her after the fall of the city.
